Join our client's centralized DevOps Tools Team as a DevOps Engineer with GitLab, focusing on building and maintaining GitLab infrastructure and CI/CD capabilities.
You will play a key role in enhancing platform scalability, reliability, and developer experience, while contributing to innovative AI-driven pipeline solutions. If you are motivated to drive improvements and work collaboratively across teams, we encourage you to apply.
This position offers a hybrid model, with 3 days per week working from the EPAM Warsaw office.
Responsibilities
- Design and manage GitLab components including groups, projects, runners, pipelines, templates, and shared libraries
- Develop and maintain shared CI/CD pipelines, reusable templates, and scalable delivery models
- Integrate DevOps tools such as artifact repositories, secret management, security scanning, observability, and policy enforcement
- Deploy and maintain GitLab Runners using Kubernetes, autoscaling, and Docker with enterprise-grade security
- Implement automated quality gates and test automation frameworks within CI/CD pipelines
- Investigate AI-enabled CI/CD applications like intelligent test selection and pipeline optimization with governance
- Collaborate with security, platform, and product teams to standardize workflows and enforce policies
- Monitor and improve pipeline performance, cost efficiency, and reliability; establish SLAs, SLOs, and KPIs
- Produce documentation, runbooks, and training materials; provide advanced Tier 2/3 support
- Promote continuous improvement through automation and self-service tools
Requirements
- Extensive experience in GitLab engineering with at least 7 years in advisory or consulting roles
- Proven leadership skills in DevOps environments with 4 to 6 years of professional IT experience
- Background in banking sector IT operations for 1 to 3 years
- Strong proficiency in Java and Python programming languages with 4 to 6 years of hands-on experience
- Expertise in DevSecOps practices and secure software delivery
- Competency in CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Strong problem-solving skills combined with a proactive 'get things done' attitude
- Ability to coordinate and organize effectively within cross-functional teams
- Demonstrated communication skills in English at a very good level, both spoken and written
