About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Backend Engineer to join our Secure Policy team within the Supply Chain Security group. This role is ideal for professionals who excel at developing large-scale infrastructure solutions with a focus on security and policy enforcement. In this position, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams—including product managers, designers, and engineers—to develop, secure, and enhance Docker’s registry and SaaS offerings. Your work will directly impact how developers worldwide deliver containers more securely and efficiently. The role involves designing and deploying microservices and serverless components in cloud environments, primarily AWS, and implementing automation tools to streamline security policies across the software supply chain.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience building, deploying, and monitoring microservices on cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Proficiency in modern programming languages, with a primary focus on Go.
- Strong knowledge of relational and non-relational databases in high-volume environments.
- Excellent understanding of software engineering best practices including code review, source control, CI/CD pipelines, and testing methodologies.
- Experience working autonomously within distributed and remote teams.
- Hands-on experience with infrastructure security, policy enforcement, or compliance frameworks (bonus).
- Familiarity with automation tools such as GitHub Actions, Argo CD, and monitoring dashboards like Grafana.
- Develop, deploy, and monitor microservices and serverless components in AWS cloud environments.
- Design and improve automation tooling to enhance security and operational efficiency, including CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows.
- Tackle high-performance engineering challenges to ensure container images and metadata are delivered securely and efficiently.
- Design, implement, and enforce security and compliance policies across software delivery pipelines.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to continuously improve the security posture and developer experience related to secure container images.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and documentation to maintain high-quality standards.
- Contribute to shaping the security features and policies of Docker’s products to meet evolving industry standards and customer needs.
