We are partnering exclusively with a major utilities provider to appoint a Lead Cyber Services & Solutions into a newly created leadership role, reflecting a significant uplift in cyber capability, maturity and investment.

This role has been established to bring stronger, centralised leadership across cyber assurance, security architecture and cyber solutions, ensuring cyber security is embedded into enterprise programs, operational environments and future transformation initiatives.

The Opportunity

As a newly created position, this role offers a rare chance to shape the function, influence how cyber services are delivered, and define engagement models across technology, operations and risk. Reporting into senior technology leadership, you will lead a specialist cyber team and act as a trusted advisor to executives, ensuring cyber risk is translated into practical, business-aligned outcomes across both IT and OT environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and lead the Cyber Services & Solutions function
• Set direction across cyber assurance, security architecture and solution design
• Embed secure-by-design and risk-based cyber practices across programs and operations
• Provide clear executive-level guidance on cyber risk, architecture and assurance
• Manage, mentor and develop a small, high-performing cyber team
• Partner closely with technology, operations, risk and external service providers
• Support regulatory, resilience and critical infrastructure security obligations

What We’re Looking For

This role requires a proven cyber leader who is comfortable building capability as well as running it.

Essential experience:

• Demonstrated people leadership and management experience (essential)
• Strong background in cyber security architecture and/or cyber assurance
• Experience operating in large, complex or regulated environments
• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence at executive level
• A pragmatic, business-focused approach to cyber risk and security uplift

Highly regarded:

• Operational Technology (OT) exposure or critical infrastructure experience
• Utilities, energy, water, transport or similar environments
• Familiarity with frameworks such as NIST CSF, Essential Eight, SOCI or equivalent
