An opportunity has become available for an Assets Engineer to join a well-established local government in Perth's western suburbs. This role sits within a collaborative Asset Management team and plays a key part in maintaining community infrastructure, improving asset data quality, and supporting long-term capital planning.
About The Role
Reporting to the Coordinator of Asset Management, you will help guide the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of asset management practices. Your work will support informed decision-making across roads, paths, drainage, buildings and public open space assets.
Key Areas Of Responsibility Include
- Assisting in the development of Asset Management Plans and capital works priorities.
- Undertaking condition assessments and site inspections
- Supporting valuations and depreciation calculations in collaboration with Finance
- Preparing scopes, project charters and concept documentation
- Coordinating consultants and contributing to grant submissions
- Providing technical advice to internal stakeholder
- Experience in asset management or civil infrastructure within local government, consulting, or utilities.
- Knowledge of asset planning, condition assessments, and infrastructure lifecycle principles.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret asset data.
- Proficiency with asset systems and Excel.
- Confident communication skills and the ability to work across multidisciplinary teams.
