We are expanding our engineering team in the UAE and hiring a Senior Software Engineer for an internal role working on the core NextMatch AI platform used by job seekers and employers worldwide.

About the Role

As a Senior Software Engineer in Dubai, you will be a key contributor to the design and development of our backend services and platform features, including:

• AI-driven matching workflows
• Identity and residency verification flows
• Employer dashboards, reporting, and APIs

You will stay hands-on with code while influencing architecture, tech choices, and best practices in a fast-moving product environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs
• Own complex features end-to-end, from design to production and monitoring
• Work with databases, data models, and integrations to support AI and analytics
• Collaborate with front-end engineers on clean API contracts and performance
• Improve performance, reliability, and security across the platform
• Participate in code reviews and help define engineering standards
• Collaborate with product, design, and data on requirements and edge cases
• Mentor mid-level and junior engineers, supporting their technical growth

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in software engineering
• Strong experience with at least one backend stack (e.g. Node.js, Python, Java, C# or Go)
• Experience building and consuming REST and/or GraphQL APIs
• Solid understanding of relational or NoSQL databases, data modelling, and querying
• Comfortable with Git, CI/CD, and working in a collaborative codebase
• Good understanding of scalable architectures, caching, and security for web apps
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to clean, maintainable code
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a distributed team
• Must be based in the UAE (preferably Dubai) and able to work UAE business hours

Nice to Have

• Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure
• Familiarity with microservices, containers, and CI/CD pipelines
• Background in SaaS, marketplaces, or HR tech
• Exposure to AI-driven products, data pipelines, or recommendation systems
• Experience with front-end frameworks (e.g., React) is a plus
