We are working with an exciting BioTech scale-up who are developing technology to enhance the preservation of biological substances. Their solutions improve the quality and viability of stored materials for use in various applications, including medical and agricultural fields.

They have a new product very close to release, and are seeking an experienced DevSecOps Engineer to join their team and this critical point to manage and enhance their Azure cloud platform, ensuring security is flawlessly embedded throughout the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC).

About the role

The DevSecOps Engineer will operate a secure, reliable, and scalable Azure cloud environment for the core platform and related services. This is a critical role that blends expertise in infrastructure management, security automation, and development pipeline optimisation. You will work closely with development and operations teams to enforce security policies, manage CI/CD processes, and ensure robust governance across all platform services.

The team will rely on you to:

  • Automate security testing, continuously monitor for vulnerabilities, and implement robust security controls within CI/CD pipelines and platform services.
  • Manage and enhance the Azure cloud platform, driving governance, enforcing security policies, and conducting risk and impact assessments.
  • Execute and optimise CI/CD processes, including new client provisioning, RBAC management, and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) deployments.
  • Respond effectively to production and support issues, performing all necessary operational and administrative tasks to maintain a secure and well-governed platform.
  • Facilitate discussion and collaboration with technical teams to clarify product requirements and designs, remaining current on trends to sustain a strong technical direction.

Ideally you have:

  • 3+ years of practical experience in the field, supported by Azure Certifications.
  • Strong hands-on experience in Azure Services, DevSecOps, CI/CD, and managing platform components like RBAC and IaC (Terraform).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of security best practices, compliance, governance, monitoring, and incident response.
  • Proven experience applying Agile methodologies throughout the SDLC.
  • Strong facilitation, team building, collaboration, organisation, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Degree qualifications (tertiary level or higher) in IT, Computer Science, or other relevant discipline.

Bonus points if you also have:

  • Experience working in a highly regulated industry or with industry-specific compliance standards (e.g., ISO 27001, TGA, HIPAA, ISO 13485, ISO 62304, ISO 14971).
  • Exposure to or experience with MLOps or supporting the production deployment of ML models.
