The Lazard Data Analytics Group, composed of data scientists, AI engineers, and software engineers, drives innovation by developing advanced AI and data science solutions that enhance decision-making across our financial advisory and asset management business lines. This team ensures Lazard stays at the forefront of a data-driven world, delivering insights that support client engagements and strengthen key partnerships, while keeping the firm competitive and efficient in an evolving financial landscape.
The AI Engineer at Lazard will work within the AI & Data Group to design, develop, and deploy advanced AI-driven applications and solutions to support the Firm’s financial advisory and asset management businesses. The primary responsibility is to build large-scale AI and machine learning projects that deliver actionable insights and drive innovation. The AI Engineer will collaborate closely with investment bankers, asset managers, data scientists, software engineers, and senior management across the Firm to deliver impactful solutions. Successful candidates will possess advanced technical and domain expertise, along with the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

We expect the base salary range for this role to be approximately $110,000 - $140,000 USD. Various factors contribute to determining the actual base compensation offered, including but not limited to the applicant’s years of relevant experience, career tenure, qualifications, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, relevant skills for the role. Base salary is one component of Lazard Asset Management’s compensation package, which also includes comprehensive benefits and may include incentive compensation.

The AI Engineer at Lazard will work within the AI & Data Group to design, develop, and deploy advanced AI-driven applications and solutions to support the Firm’s financial advisory and asset management businesses. The primary responsibility is to build large-scale AI and machine learning projects that deliver actionable insights and drive innovation. The AI Engineer will collaborate closely with investment bankers, asset managers, data scientists, software engineers, and senior management across the Firm to deliver impactful solutions. Successful candidates will possess advanced technical and domain expertise, along with the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, Machine Learning, or related fields.
- 1-3 years of experience developing large scale GenAI applications
- Expertise in Python and frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and scikit-learn.
- Deep knowledge of machine learning algorithms and experience in productionizing AI models.
- Proficiency with frameworks for large language models (LLMs) such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, and VectorDBs.
- Experience developing and deploying AI solutions using cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, or GCP.
- Advanced knowledge of unstructured data processing, including NLP (e.g., sentiment analysis, entity recognition, topic modeling, and retrieval-augmented generation).
- Proficiency in APIs and microservices frameworks like FastAPI or Flask.
- Demonstrated ability to query and analyze data from relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB, ElasticSearch).
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical findings into actionable business strategies for bankers, asset managers, and other stakeholders.
- Passion for building innovative, high-quality AI-driven products.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Prior experience in the financial industry or a strong interest in finance.
- Familiar with Databricks, Azure AI and Microsoft Copilot ecosystem
- Expertise in building advanced retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems and developing autonomous LLM agent workflows.
- Familiarity with MLOps workflows and tools like MLflow, Kubeflow, or Vertex AI.
- Experience with real-time AI applications and stream processing frameworks.
- Demonstrated success in delivering AI solutions with measurable business impact.
- Strong knowledge of advanced GenAI and communicating insights to non-technical audiences.
