Provision of technical consultancy services for Data Engineering projects. The ideal candidate must have strong technological competence in Business Intelligence (BI) implementation projects in Azure.

Key responsibilities

• Analysis, design and implementation of data ingestion, data storage, data processing and data security in Microsoft Azure.
• Management and monitoring of data ingestion, data storage and data processing.
• Development and maintenance of data storage, data processing and data security according to EC guidelines.
• Participation and interaction in technical working groups and meetings with project teams, developers, stakeholders, and non-expert / non-technical users.
• Draft and review technical and functional / non-functional specifications in collaboration with Enterprise Architecture and Operations teams.

Required knowledge & skills

• Cloud-based applications / Azure data integration: Azure Data Factory and/or Azure Synapse Pipeline and/or Fabric; Azure Synapse Analytics; Azure DWH using Azure Synapse Analytics; Azure Synapse Apache Spark Pools; Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2; Azure Stream Analytics.
• Databases: MS SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, Amazon Redshift.
• Network topology: TCP/IP, Load balancers, Proxy servers.
• Reporting technologies: Qlik Sense, Tableau, SSAS.
• Microsoft Power BI: M, DAX.
• SQL / SQL-PL.
• Python (Notebooks).
• ETL: Microsoft SSIS, SSAS multidimensional and tabular.
• Leading BI developments.
• Design and implementation of data marts.
• Implementation of a database sync tool developed in PL/SQL for Oracle.
• Azure DWH implementation.
• BI for process driven applications.
• Software tools: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); Confluence and JIRA; Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio; Oracle Developer.
• Knowledge/experience with writing system specifications and understanding technical documentation.
