Senior Data Engineer | Hybrid Cloud & Public Cloud Platforms | Long-term Assignment

Are you a Senior Data Engineer who enjoys working at the intersection of cloud platforms, data engineering, and governance? In this role, you will help shape how Public Cloud data is collected, enriched, and visualised across a large-scale enterprise environment. You'll work on cutting-edge cloud technologies, influence platform-wide decisions, and enable engineers worldwide with actionable insights on compliance, FinOps, and cloud usage.

About the role

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be part of a high-performing Hybrid Cloud platform environment that supports engineers in using Public Cloud services in a secure, compliant, and scalable way. Together with Platform and Data Engineers, you will design, build, and maintain data pipelines that ingest metadata from Public Cloud providers such as Azure and GCP, enrich this data, and expose it through dashboards and analytics products.

You take end-to-end ownership of your solutions - from data ingestion and transformation to monitoring, optimisation, documentation, and standardisation - while continuously driving innovation and platform improvements.

Your responsibilities include:

• Designing and maintaining scalable data ingestion pipelines for Public Cloud metadata
• Transforming and enriching cloud data for analytics, compliance, and FinOps reporting
• Building and maintaining data solutions used across multiple dashboards and platforms
• Collaborating closely with Platform Engineers, Data Engineers, and DevOps teams
• Ensuring data quality, reliability, security, and performance across environments
• Contributing to CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure-as-Code practices
• Providing technical guidance and support to team members
• Staying up to date with emerging cloud and data engineering trends

About you

• 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer in complex environments
• Hands-on experience with Azure ADX, Fabric, Function Apps, and Event Grid
• Strong knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and Ansible
• Proficient in Python, Java, and Bash
• Solid experience with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and automation
• Strong background in data collection, processing, transformation, and analysis
• Familiar with Azure and GCP cloud platforms
• Comfortable working in dynamic, fast-changing environments
• Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving skills
• Able to guide and support others through technical challenges

Education & background

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in Information Technology or a related field
• Experience working in high-performing Agile / Scrum teams
• Relevant certifications or proven proficiency in required technologies
• Strong command of the English language
• Team player with experience working in international and cross-country teams
