We are looking for a Business Intelligence Analyst for a 12-month contract position, with possible extensions in Regina, Saskatchewan. Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
This role is a hybrid position with 3 days in the office per week. 8 hours a day, 40 hours a week. This is NOT a remote role.
Role Description:
The Business Intelligence Analyst will be responsible for transforming data into meaningful insights that support business decision-making. This role involves gathering requirements, developing reports and dashboards, analyzing trends, and collaborating with business and technical teams to deliver accurate, timely, and actionable information.
Responsibilities:
- Work with business stakeholders to understand reporting and analytics requirements
- Design, develop, and maintain reports, dashboards, and data visualizations
- Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement
- Translate business questions into data-driven insights and recommendations
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability across reports
- Support data validation, reconciliation, and quality checks
- Document reporting logic, data definitions, and processes
- Collaborate with technical teams to understand data sources and structures
- Provide ongoing support and enhancements to existing reports and dashboards
Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analyst, or similar role
- Strong experience with BI and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or similar)
- Solid understanding of relational databases and SQL
- Experience working with large datasets and multiple data sources
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate insights clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience gathering and documenting business requirements
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Experience with data modeling concepts and best practices
- Experience with data warehousing or ETL processes
- Familiarity with Excel and advanced data analysis techniques
- Experience working in Agile or iterative delivery environments
- Experience in large enterprise or public-sector environments
