Role Overview

The frontend isn't what it used to be. Neither is this role.

In 2026, exceptional frontend engineering isn't about translating Figma to code—it's about crafting interfaces that anticipate user needs before they articulate them. We're looking for a product-minded Frontend Engineer who sees the UI as the product's most critical touchpoint, not just a presentation layer.

You'll build interfaces powered by Agentic UI patterns, Generative UI, and AI-orchestrated state—experiences that feel proactive, intelligent, and delightfully responsive. The "frontend" now stretches to the Edge, streams AI responses in real-time, and adapts dynamically to user intent.

We need someone with a designer's eye (you notice when padding is off by 4px) and an engineer's depth (you understand why React Server Components change everything). If you believe the best UI is one users don't have to think about, keep reading.

Key Responsibilities

  • Intelligent Feature Development Build scalable React applications leveraging React 19's full potential—Server Components, Server Actions, and the React Compiler for zero-manual-memorization performance. You'll architect features where the framework does the heavy lifting, so you can focus on user value.
  • Design-to-Experience Translation: Transform complex Figma AI prototypes into pixel-perfect, production-ready interfaces. Go beyond visual fidelity—capture the intent behind designs using Tailwind CSS 4.0, native CSS nesting, and modern layout primitives. Every interaction should feel intentional.
  • Predictive State Management: Orchestrate data flow using TanStack Store, Zustand, or React Query with a focus on what user’s experience: optimistic UI that feels instant, real-time streaming that keeps users in flow, and graceful degradation when things go wrong.
  • AI & UX Collaboration: Partner with designers to implement Adaptive UI—interfaces that reshape themselves based on user intent, context, and AI predictions. Integrate AI-driven micro-interactions: smart defaults, predictive autocomplete, and UI that learns.
  • Performance & Edge Awareness: Own Core Web Vitals 2026 metrics like they're your personal OKRs. Achieve sub-second Time to Interactive through Edge-side rendering, streaming HTML, and aggressive code-splitting. Performance isn't a feature—it's the foundation.
  • Inclusive Engineering: Implement WCAG 3.0 (Bronze/Silver) standards from day one. Accessibility isn't a checklist item added before launch—it's baked into your component architecture, your testing strategy, and your definition of "done."

Technical Requirements

Modern React Mastery

  • 2–4 years of professional React experience
  • Deep knowledge of React 19: Server Components, Server Actions, use() hook, and the React Compiler
  • Understanding of the why behind RSC—data fetching patterns, streaming, and the server/client boundary
  • Experience migrating from client-heavy to server-first architectures

The New "Foundations"

  • TypeScript (Strict Mode): You don't sprinkle any to make errors disappear
  • Modern CSS Expertise:
  • Container Queries for truly responsive components
  • Subgrid for complex nested layouts
  • @scope for style isolation
  • CSS layers and cascade control
  • Native nesting (goodbye, preprocessors)

AI-Assisted Workflow

  • Proficiency with AI-first IDEs (Cursor, Windsurf) to accelerate development
  • Experience with UI generation tools (v0.dev, Bolt.new) for rapid prototyping
  • Understanding of when AI assistance helps vs. when it introduces technical debt
  • Ability to effectively prompt, review, and refine AI-generated code

UX/UI Design Toolkit

  • Hands-on Figma experience:
  • Variables and design tokens
  • Auto-layout 6.0 mastery
  • Advanced prototyping with logic and variables
  • Ability to read a design and identify potential implementation challenges before building
  • Comfort providing constructive feedback to designers on feasibility and performance implications

Framework Architecture

  • Production experience with Next.js 15+ or Remix
  • Understanding of Edge Functions (Vercel Edge, Cloudflare Workers)
  • Knowledge of streaming SSR, partial prerendering, and ISR strategies
  • Experience with monorepo tooling (Turborepo, Nx) is a plus

Bonus Skills

Motion Design

  • Experience with Framer Motion 12+ or GSAP for sophisticated animations
  • Understanding of spatial and 3D-like transitions that enhance (not distract from) UX
  • Knowledge of View Transitions API for seamless page transitions
  • Performance-conscious animation: GPU-accelerated properties, reduced motion support

Agentic UX Patterns

  • Experience building interfaces that handle streaming AI responses gracefully
  • Familiarity with LLM-driven UI components: chat interfaces, AI suggestions, generative content
  • Understanding of loading states, error handling, and graceful degradation for AI features
  • Knowledge of prompt engineering for UI/UX applications

Spatial UI

  • Basic understanding of Spatial Computing principles
  • Experience with "Glassmorphism 2.0"—depth, layers, and dimensional UI
  • Exposure to Three.js or React Three Fiber for 3D web elements
  • Interest in immersive web experiences and WebXR foundations
