Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Scrum Master to guide and coach Agile teams in effectively applying Scrum and Agile practices. The ideal candidate will foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, transparency, and servant leadership while helping teams deliver high-quality products that delight customers.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Guide the team and organization on how to use Agile/Scrum practices and values to deliver maximum customer value.
- Coach teams on achieving high levels of self-organization and accountability.
- Support teams in filling the intentional gaps left in Agile/Scrum and SAFe frameworks through best practices and proven techniques.
- Assess Scrum maturity of teams and the organization, and coach them to higher levels of maturity at a sustainable pace.
- Remove impediments or facilitate their removal by engaging the appropriate stakeholders.
- Build a trusting and safe environment where issues can be raised openly without fear of blame or retribution, focusing on problem-solving and continuous improvement.
- Facilitate effective collaboration by enabling discussions, decision-making, and conflict resolution without assigning or dictating work.
- Assist with internal and external communication, improving transparency and information radiators.
- Support and educate the Product Owner, particularly in backlog grooming and backlog management.
- Serve the team using a servant leadership approach and lead by example at all times.
- Minimum 8+ years of overall experience, with hands-on experience as a Scrum Master.
- Proven experience playing the Scrum Master role for software development teams practicing Scrum principles, practices, and theory.
- Strong knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, empowerment, and continuous improvement.
- Experience with Agile metrics, burndown/burnup techniques, retrospective formats, and defect-handling practices.
- Excellent communication, coaching, and mentoring skills.
- Extended experience as a Scrum Master supporting mature Agile teams.
- Knowledge and experience with other Agile frameworks and methodologies such as XP, Kanban, Crystal, FDD, SAFe, etc.
- Hands-on experience with Agile engineering practices including User Stories, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pair Programming, Automated Testing, and Agile Games.
- Familiarity with technologies used by the development team is an added advantage.
- Strong exposure to applying a wide range of Agile and Scrum patterns and techniques to address framework gaps.
