Software Developer, Common Gaming Platforms
Your future development team is responsible for the jackpot gaming system for Veikkaus’ own online casino games, as well as the system and its user interface that enables communication with Veikkaus’ slot machines. As a member of this team, you will get to develop business-critical systems used by numerous customers and stakeholders. This role offers the opportunity to influence the gaming services provided to international customers and contribute to Veikkaus’ international expansion. The position is permanent and full-time.
Our development team currently comprises a product owner, three developers and a quality assurance specialist. Due to future development needs and internationalisation, our small but skilled team is now looking for additional reinforcement.
The team designs, implements, and maintains the services under its responsibility. The keywords are quality and maintainability. Our core principles are "everyone does everything" and "no one is left behind". The team is responsible for and free to carry out development work using the technologies and methods they deem appropriate.
The technologies and products we use include Scala, Java, MySQL, TypeScript, React, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, GitLab, Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Linux, among others.
We Expect You To
The position is located at Veikkaus’ headquarters in Pohjois-Haaga, Helsinki. We work flexibly in a hybrid model. To foster collaboration and effective teamwork, we meet at the office three times a week.
Please note that the job requires a valid residence permit from all non-EU citizens.

- Be familiar with some of these technologies mentioned above and have a few years of experience with them, either through your studies or professional life.
- Be able to produce clean code
- Be able and willing to learn new technologies
- Be fluent in English (spoken and written)
- A passion for quality and maintainability
- Good collaboration skills: you ask for help from others when needed and help others by sharing your expertise
- Proficiency in Finnish, both spoken and written
