AVTECH is a Swedish SaaS company in the aviation industry, headquartered on the 23rd floor of Kista Science Tower in Stockholm. We develop advanced digital services that help airlines worldwide optimize their operations – from fuel savings and flight trajectory optimization to improved punctuality and reduced environmental impact.

We are in a strong growth phase and are now expanding our product development team with an experienced Frontend Developer. This is a key opportunity to join a technically skilled and collaborative team where your work will be directly used by airlines around the world.

The Role

We are looking for a Frontend Developer who primarily works with web applications, but who is comfortable in a full-stack environment. You will be part of a cross-functional development team that owns both backend and frontend code.

This role is not about building websites. It is about building complex, data-dense web applications used in real operational contexts within the airline industry — by pilots, dispatchers, and ground personnel.

You will work on both:

• New web-based products, and
• Modernising and rebuilding existing systems using modern frontend technology.

We currently have web frontends built in both React and Django templates, but we are standardising on React/Next.js going forward.

What You’ll Do

• Design and implement modern, scalable web frontends using Next.js.
• Build user interfaces for complex, data-heavy systems with high usability demands.
• Rebuild and modernise existing web applications using modern frontend patterns.
• Collaborate closely with backend developers (primarily Python-based systems).
• Work together with UX/UI designers to turn designs into high-quality implementations.
• Use AI-assisted development tools (e.g. Copilot, Lovable-style tools) to work faster and smarter.
• Continuously challenge and improve frontend architecture, code quality, and development practices.
• Be an active contributor to technical discussions and decisions — not just execute tasks.

What We’re Looking For

• Around 5 years of professional experience in frontend web development.
• Strong experience building applications with modern JavaScript frameworks, preferably React. We’re using Next.js, Tailwind CSS and Redux.
• Experience working on complex applications, not only marketing or content-driven websites.
• Familiarity with full-stack development and backend interaction.
• Understanding of modern development workflows, cloud environments, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Comfort working in an environment where your code runs in containerised and cloud-based systems.
• A self-driven mindset with a desire to raise the bar and improve how things are built.
• Knowledgeable about best coding practices and how to design well-structured data flows to improve maintainability and overall code quality.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across roles.
• You already live in the Stockholm area.
• Fluency in English, spoken and written. Swedish is a plus.
