Back End Developer

We are looking for a Backend Engineer to join a team responsible for central systems behind one of the client's most used functions. In this role, you will work on further developing and improving backend solutions that are used by millions of users every day. The focus is on building robust, high-performance and scalable Java services in a cloud environment, as well as working with databases and data pipelines at scale.

You will contribute to improving performance and reliability by analyzing bottlenecks and optimizing API usage, while enabling new features and improved user experience. You will work in a cross-functional and independent team where you have clear operational responsibility for the services you develop and manage.

Qualifications:

• You can design and build distributed backend services and databases at scale and have a good understanding of data structures and algorithms.
• You are at the forefront of using AI tools for efficient coding.
• You have experience using Java to build high-performance backend services. Experience with Scala is a strong asset.
• You have experience with modern infrastructure and cloud tools, especially within GCP, and are comfortable managing the entire lifecycle of a service.
• You have a strong understanding of distributed systems and how diagnosing performance issues is carried out in complex, interconnected backend architectures.
