Job Description

JOB PURPOSE

To monitor and analyze information security events and ensures a consistent and coordinated response to

ongoing security threats. Conducts technical analysis of incidents identified as a threat to the confidentiality,

integrity and availability of RTA’s intellectual property, customer information or employee's personal identifiable

information.

Key Results Accountabilities

  • Identifies, recommends and implements corrective actions in response to security violations.
  • Supports building reports for management and audits
  • Tests security controls for ISO27001, ISR and other regulations and standards or best practices
  • Conducts vulnerability research and recommends remediation
  • Captures IT security services requests and incidents and addresses them according to their priorities and based on agreed service level agreements
  • Monitors, analyses, triages and escalates security events from the incident response queue
  • Performs security assessments to determine vulnerabilities in systems and applications.
  • Performs other responsibilities associated with the position as appropriate
  • Identifies and communicates potential threats to information assets.
  • Develops and maintain security policies, standards and procedures to protect information assets.
  • Research develops and documents security architecture requirements.
  • Analyses and configures security systems to meet security architecture requirements.
  • Reports on system configuration and hardening
  • Creates and maintains IT security standard operating procedures
  • Analyses, designs and configures authentication and access systems to meet security architecture requirements.
  • Monitors security systems for anomalies and responds to potential security events
  • Conducts technical analysis of computer security incidents as it relates to malware, intrusion attempts, and system level log analysis
  • Assists in the research, evaluation and recommendation of technology products and services
  • Uses knowledge of security policies, standards and procedures to help design secure architectures for systems and applications.
  • Documents IT security knowledge and lessons learned and provide educational reports to managers and end-users to improve IT security conduct across RTA
  • Perform continuous risk and readiness assessments and ongoing compliance with standards
  • Gathers, categorizes and disseminates intelligence information from internal and external sources
  • Supports chief specialists in conducting IT security awareness sessions for selective IT security topics

Knowledge, Skills And Experiece

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or computer science/IT from recognized university.
  • 8 years of relevant working experience
