Experience Desired: Progressively responsible roles in the Network Engineering Space (5-7 yrs); LAN implementation and support, knowledge of risk domains, tiered domains TCP/IP fundamentals (5-7 yrs); Ethernet, QoS, IP subnetting, cabling (copper & fiber), OSPF, VLAN Trunking, VLANs, and switching co (5-7 yrs); Functional experience with LAN operations and implementation utilizing Cisco switches (5-7 yrs)

Job Description

  • 5–7 years of progressive experience in network engineering or equivalent role
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or 8+ years equivalent experience)
  • Strong understanding of LAN implementation and support
  • Proficiency with Cisco switches and LAN operations
  • Solid experience with TCP/IP, Ethernet, OSPF, QoS, IP subnetting, VLANs, and switching
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively

Other Desirable Qualifications

  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
  • Automation and scripting experience
  • Familiarity with DNA Center (Catalyst Center)
  • Wireless networking knowledge

We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer to join a leading manufacturing organization in East Peoria. In this role, you will support and innovate LAN solutions across the enterprise, collaborating with technical teams to keep network operations robust and efficient. This is a full-time, onsite opportunity offering hands-on work with Cisco networking technologies.

Job Duties

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve LAN issues, replacing defective components as needed
  • Support LAN development and enhancements based on business needs
  • Participate in on-call rotation for off-shift critical support
  • Work with business partners and vendors to integrate network infrastructure
  • Implement process improvements and follow IT Service Management standards
  • Coordinate with firewall, VPN, wireless, and NAC teams to execute changes
  • Provide technical guidance to business partners on LAN matters
