Required Skills & Experience

  • Experience working in Agile product environments as a Product Manager.
  • Proven API product ownership experience with strong understanding of API design and lifecycle.
  • Large scale experience with APIs, both in quantity and complexity (150+ APIs)
  • Hands-on experience modernizing APIs, including decoupling services and migrating from on‑prem to cloud (AWS preferred).
  • Experience operating in large, complex API ecosystems.
  • Strong product mindset to manage KPIs, Metrics, team financial planning, and business casing

  • Financial institution experience (adjacent experience)

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Digital Product Manager to join our team for a Big 5 banking client:

  • Lead 1–2 Agile pods focused on modernizing APIs that power core digital banking features (e.g., Transfer Funds, Bill Pay, e-Transfers, Offers, Account Summary).
  • Own the API product lifecycle: define, sequence, and manage APIs from inception through decoupling, migration, and deployment into cloud environments (AWS or applicable).
  • Execute platform modernization initiatives as part of a multi-year program to decompose a large monolithic system into microservices and cloud-based architecture.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Digital Architecture (DA) teams and other product owners to align on migration plans, dependencies, and delivery timelines.
  • Manage backlog and prioritize features for modernization workstreams, ensuring alignment with business objectives and strategic roadmap.
  • Translate business requirements into technical deliverables for APIs in the BFF (Backend-for-Frontend) layer between UI and backend systems.
  • Monitor and report on KPIs, metrics, and financials for assigned products, ensuring delivery meets performance and cost targets.
  • Engage stakeholders regularly to provide updates, resolve blockers, and maintain alignment across horizontal teams.
  • Support business analysis activities to disassemble legacy digital products and reassemble them into modernized, modular services.
  • Ensure compliance and security standards are met during API development and migration processes.
