Contract: Until 30 June - Further Extension Possibilities

Start: Early February preferred

Location: Hybrid – Adelaide (Mon/Tue/Wed onsite)

About the Role

We are seeking hands‑on Cyber Security Analysts to support a major cyber remediation program focused on strengthening security controls, tightening processes, and moving from design into implementation. These roles require practical, technical professionals who are comfortable “getting in the trenches” to configure tools, analyse logs, and uplift security posture across the Microsoft security ecosystem.

You will be part of a growing security uplift effort, helping address gaps in how applications, data, and devices are currently being used—including remediating process lapses such as sensitive files being downloaded to personal devices.

This is a great opportunity for someone with solid foundational experience who wants to deepen their hands‑on skills across the Microsoft security stack without needing decades of prior experience. Mindset is everything: proactive, curious, and ready to get things done.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform hands-on configuration work across the Microsoft security ecosystem, including:

-Microsoft Defender

-Microsoft Purview

-Microsoft Entra

  • Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB) components
  • Analyse current security logs, alerts, and data flows to identify risks, misuse, or policy gaps.
  • Review and update existing cyber security policies and configurations.
  • Investigate how internal applications and services are being used and recommend improved security controls.
  • Assist with Data Loss Prevention (DLP) configuration and uplift activities.
  • Support process tightening around device usage, data handling, and access governance.
  • Contribute to the transition from design to implementation across multiple security uplift initiatives.
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders including Wolfgang, Arun, and additional security contractors.
  • Champion best practices and support cultural uplift around security controls and compliance.

About You

  • Practical, hands‑on cyber security experience (does not require deep senior/architect-level background).
  • Strong capability in configuring Microsoft security tools.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-moving remediation environment.
  • “Can‑do” attitude with a willingness to get into technical detail and problem-solve.
  • Understanding of modern cloud security practices and DLP principles.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a collaborative team.
  • Experience with or exposure to CASB, DLP, or cloud security tooling (desirable).
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.

Key Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in Cyber Security operations or engineering.
  • Technical experience with Microsoft’s security stack (Defender, Entra, Purview).
  • Ability to analyse logs, identify risks, and apply secure configurations.
  • Availability to work hybrid in Adelaide (Mon–Wed onsite).
  • Able to start early February or as soon as possible.

What We Offer

  • High-impact contract role contributing directly to organisational cyber uplift.
  • Work with modern Microsoft security technologies.
  • Supportive team environment focused on delivery and learning.
  • Competitive hourly rate and strong extension potential.
