About Neo4j

Neo4j is the leader in Graph Database & Analytics, helping organizations uncover hidden patterns and relationships across billions of data connections deeply, easily, and quickly. Customers use Neo4j to gain a deeper understanding of their business and reveal new ways of solving their most pressing problems. Over 84% of Fortune 100 companies use Neo4j, along with a vibrant community of 250,000+ developers, data scientists, and architects across the globe.

At Neo4j, we’re proud to build the technology that powers breakthrough solutions for our customers. These solutions have helped NASA get to Mars two years earlier, broke the Panama Papers for the ICIJ, and are helping Transport for London to cut congestion by 10% and save $750M a year. Some of our other notable customers include Intuit, Lockheed Martin, Novartis, UBS, and Walmart.

Neo4j experienced rapid growth this year as organizations looking to deploy generative AI (GenAI) recognized graph databases as essential for improving its accuracy, transparency, and explainability. Growth was further fueled by enterprise demand for Neo4j’s cloud offering and partnerships with leading cloud hyperscalers and ecosystem leaders. Learn more at neo4j.com and follow us on LinkedIn.

Our Vision

At Neo4j, we have always strived to help the world make sense of data.

As business, society and knowledge become increasingly connected, our technology promotes innovation by helping organizations to find and understand data relationships. We created, drive and lead the graph database category, and we’re disrupting how organizations leverage their data to innovate and stay competitive.

The Role

As a member of the Framework team, you’ll design and build features, components, and services that other Neo4j teams rely on every day. You’ll work on both the front-end foundation (components, testing, shared logic) and the backend systems that support our tools, from Node.js services to Go-based workloads running on the Aura Platform.

This is a hands-on engineering role with room for ownership, creativity, and end-to-end problem solving.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build, maintain, and improve foundational systems - You’ll develop reusable components, shared logic, backend services, and internal tools - enabling other teams to ship faster and more reliably.

Full-stack ownership - From UI to APIs to data handling, you’ll take features from ideation to implementation, release, and ongoing maintenance.Research and experiment - The Framework is your sandbox. You’ll explore new ideas, validate them, and help define the next generation of our internal tooling.Collaborate deeply across Neo4j - You’ll work with teams behind the Neo4j Browser, Aura, Neo4j Desktop, and more. Our portfolio spans 7+ user-facing products.

What You’ll Do

  • Work across the stack: React/TypeScript on the frontend; Node.js and Go on the backend.
  • Build and maintain internal services supporting the Aura Console and other tools.
  • Partner with designers, product engineers, and platform teams to shape technical direction.
  • Continuously learn, experiment, and find areas to specialize in - helping the whole team grow.

Qualifications

Frontend skills

  • Strong experience with HTML, CSS, TypeScript, and modern frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue).
  • Experience with state management (e.g., Redux).
  • Experience with testing libraries and tooling (e.g., Playwright, Jest).
  • Solid understanding of usability and user-centered development.

Backend Skills

  • Experience building and maintaining backend services, ideally with Node.js and/or Go, but other backend languages are relevant as well.
  • Understanding of APIs, distributed systems, and modern cloud-native development.

General

  • Comfortable working independently in an environment with autonomy and high impact.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate on complex technical challenges.
  • A desire to learn, explore, and shape the evolution of our Framework ecosystem.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Electron or other desktop application frameworks.
  • Familiarity with GitHub Actions or similar CI/CD tools.
  • Experience building or maintaining design systems or component libraries.
  • Experience with design tools like Figma or Sketch.

Familiarity with monorepos and large-scale codebase architecture.
