About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Spatial Analyst to join our team and contribute to our exciting GIS projects. As a Spatial Analyst, you will play a key role in utilising geospatial technologies and analytical techniques to support various departments and initiatives. Join us in shaping the future of our local council and enhancing our decision-making processes.

You Can Also Expect To

  • Contribute to council’s GIS projects aimed at enhancing our spatial analysis capabilities and optimising data-driven decision-making processes.
  • Conduct spatial data analysis using ArcGIS software and other spatial analysis tools to support the council's operations, planning, and policy development processes.
  • Manage and maintain spatial databases, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and security of spatial data. Organise and update datasets and develop data standards and quality assurance procedures.
  • Create visually appealing maps, interactive dashboards, and data visualisations to effectively communicate spatial analysis findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders and the public.
  • Provide spatial analysis support to different departments, assisting in decision-making processes and generating insights through spatial queries and analytical reports.
  • Integrate spatial data with non-spatial data sources to derive meaningful insights and facilitate data-driven decision-making.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of the council's spatial data infrastructure, including geodatabases and web mapping applications.

About You

The ideal candidate is someone who has an analytical mindset, is technologically savvy, is a proficient communicator, and has great attention to detail.

This industrious individual is required to meet the following criteria:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Geographic Information Systems, Spatial Analysis, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in conducting spatial analysis and managing spatial databases using GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS) and spatial analysis tools.

Salary: $98,342 - $110,143 pa plus 12% superannuation
