Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior System Architect (Pega) to lead the design, architecture, and technical governance of enterprise-scale Pega applications. This role is ideal for a senior-level Pega professional who can operate independently, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions.
The engagement is offered on a B2B freelance contract basis with a hybrid working model.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and own the end-to-end system architecture for Pega-based solutions
- Lead technical design decisions aligned with business and enterprise architecture standards
- Act as the technical authority for Pega PRPC implementations
- Ensure adherence to Pega best practices, guardrails, and performance standards
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, and development teams
- Perform architecture reviews, design validations, and code quality assessments
- Guide teams on integration architecture (REST, SOAP, messaging, APIs)
- Support non-functional requirements including scalability, security, availability, and performance
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to Pega developers and leads
- Participate in release planning, risk assessment, and production readiness activities
Required Skills & Experience
- 8+ years of overall IT experience with strong hands-on Pega expertise
- 5+ years working as a Pega System Architect / Lead Architect
- Strong experience with Pega Platform (PRPC), Case Management, and BPM
- Proven experience designing enterprise-scale Pega solutions
- Expertise in Pega integrations (REST, SOAP, JMS, APIs)
- Strong understanding of Pega security, performance tuning, and deployment
- Experience working in Agile / Scrum environments
- Ability to work independently in a freelance / contract setting
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Pega Certified Senior System Architect (CSSA) – mandatory
- Pega Certified Lead System Architect (CLSA) – highly desirable
- Experience in B2B, enterprise, or large-scale digital transformation programs
- Exposure to cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Experience working in hybrid or distributed team models
