About the Role

We’re seeking a UI/UX Designer (Freelance) to join our client’s digital product team in Brussels for a 6-month mission. You’ll transform visionary concepts into seamless, intuitive user experiences that bridge user intent and business goals. Your work will directly shape how users interact with innovative digital products, making a tangible impact on both usability and business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Translate concepts from ideation into intuitive, high-quality user flows and visually compelling screens
• Own the digital user flow from a UX/UI perspective, ensuring clarity and usability at every step
• Gather input from stakeholders to align user needs with technical feasibility
• Draw inspiration from best-in-class digital experiences, both within and beyond the financial sector
• Design high-fidelity mockups and interactive prototypes
• Ensure intuitive information hierarchy and accessibility at the screen level
• Iterate on designs based on user feedback from usability testing
• Collaborate closely with UX copywriters to seamlessly integrate content into your designs
• Actively use and contribute to the client’s design system (mobile native & web, Mobile First)
• Engage with the UX/UI community of practice to share knowledge, co-create standards, and inspire peers
• Lead the refinement phase and support concept designers during ideation with visual expertise
• Deliver pixel-perfect prototypes and screens, hand over to development squads, and follow up on implementation with front-end developers

Technical Skills & Experience

• Proven expertise in mobile native design (Material Design and Human Interface Guidelines)
• Strong Mobile First mindset
• Proficient with leading design tools (Figma, Sketch, etc.)
• Deep understanding of design systems: consuming, creating, and improving components
• Good knowledge of WCAG guidelines and accessibility best practices
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
• Ability to document work and develop clear briefs for researchers and developers
• Understanding of the technical impact of design decisions; front-end development experience is a plus

Language Proficiency

• Fluent in French or Dutch (C1 level), ideally as a native speaker
• Strong understanding of English (B1/B2 level); ability to communicate effectively in English is a key asset
