We’re looking for a Senior Cloud Developer to join our Protection Data Science and LabTech team in Helsinki. The team builds and runs a large-scale cloud ecosystem that identifies malicious URLs and protects our customers from scams and other online threats.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys working close to production: designing, building, automating, and running cloud systems at serious scale. We’re talking billions of requests per day, high availability expectations, and constant trade-offs between cost, performance, reliability, and simplicity.

You’ll work mostly with Python in an AWS-based, serverless environment, combining application development with infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, and production ownership. We value pragmatic engineering, curiosity, and an experimental mindset — improving how we work is just as important as what we build.

We work in an agile way, collaborate closely with researchers and engineers across domains, and take shared ownership of our systems. We’re flexible with remote work, but the team meets at the office about once a week for co-working and team time — because some things are just easier (and more fun) face to face. We can also support relocation to Helsinki for this role, helping make the move as smooth as possible if you’re joining us from abroad.

Key Responsibilities In This Role

• Design, develop, test, and maintain cloud services that run at massive scale
• Work closely with Scam Protection engineers and researchers to turn new ideas into production-ready solutions
• Own and operate production systems with high SLA requirements
• Build, improve, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for safe and frequent deployments
• Automate and optimize production monitoring, alerting, and observability
• Improve system reliability, availability, and fault tolerance
• Support other developers and handle support requests from partner teams
• Design and develop serverless microservices on AWS, balancing maintainability, cost, performance, and simplicity
  
  

What are we looking for?

• Solid professional experience building backend systems with Python
• Golang experience is a plus
• Experience running and operating serverless production systems
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation
• Strong experience with AWS managed and serverless services
• Infrastructure-as-Code experience (e.g. CDK, Terraform, CloudFormation)
• Experience with containers and orchestration (Docker, ECS/EKS)
• Experience working with both SQL and NoSQL databases
• Experience designing and working with microservices
• A team-oriented mindset: you communicate clearly, support others, and stay curious
• Full professional proficiency in English (our working language)

• MLOps experience: deploying models, versioning, experiment tracking, feature stores, data pipelines, or model monitoring
• Good understanding of cloud networking and security fundamentals
• Experience building multi-region, active-active backend systems
