We're hiring a Senior Software Engineer (Backend/Full-Stack) to join our forward-leaning innovation team within F-Secure's product organization. Our mission is to safeguard consumers against scams while delivering an exceptional user experience that sets the industry standard for protection and usability.

We're big believers in solving problems together, having designers, devs, and product folks all working in the same room, no red tape, no extra approval layers. We own our product and make decisions as a team every day to solve real customer problems, end to end. That's why our innovation team is working on-site at our Helsinki HQ typically 3-5 days a week, and hope that you would be ready for that too. About The Team

F-Secure's New Products and Innovations team is leveraging F-Secure's proven security technologies while pioneering new consumer experiences, tools, and product concepts.

The team is small by design: a cross-functional unit of engineers, designers, and product thinkers with autonomy to explore, prototype, and deliver at startup speed. Everyone is hands-on, there are no management layers, no one on the sidelines. We all ship, contribute directly to the product, and own outcomes together. We cut through bureaucracy, make decisions fast, and focus relentlessly on what matters most: building consumer experiences that feel intuitive, human, and trustworthy.

Scams have become an industrial-scale problem run by sophisticated criminals, and for ordinary people, even experts, it's getting harder to tell what's real. We're building something that restores confidence, trust and peace of mind, replacing fear, confusion, and shame with clarity, protection, and support. Every feature we ship can help someone avoid losing their savings or recover from an attack. That real-world human impact is what drives us.

We aim for MLP — Minimum Lovable Product — not just viable. Every prototype must earn its place in consumers’ hands by solving a real problem beautifully.

What You’ll Do

As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll be part of a small team owning everything from prototype to production. You'll design, build, and evolve the backend systems and APIs that power our product, from Node.js services and AWS infrastructure to integrations with AI models, third-party services, and optimizing performance and scalability. Your work will touch millions of consumers and directly shape the evolution of our product concept: a seamless "safety net" that helps people prevent, protect, and recover from scams with confidence.

Your Day-to-day May Include

• Building Node.js backend services and APIs from concept to production
• Designing and deploying AWS cloud infrastructure (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, etc.)
• Driving a rapid internal alpha → beta (10k+ users) → production delivery rhythm
• Integrating new technologies (AI, third-party APIs, etc.) into real user experiences
• Collaborating closely with frontend engineers to prototype, test, and iterate
• Shipping features to real users every week — and learning fast from their feedback
  
  

What are we looking for?

We’re not looking for someone to maintain existing systems — we’re looking for a builder. Someone who thrives on turning uncertainty into clarity, prototypes into production, and ideas into impact.

You’ll Do Well Here If You Have

• 5+ years of experience building production-grade backend systems
• Strong hands-on experience with Node.js and AWS cloud services
• Deep understanding of cloud architecture, scalability, and performance optimization
• Experience with React or frontend development for full-stack collaboration
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, experimental environment with tight feedback loops
• Strong sense of ownership — you build, you test, you ship, you learn
• Curiosity, pragmatism, and a bias toward action
  
  

Bonus Points For

• Experience with consumer-facing products or mobile app backends
• Experience with serverless architectures and infrastructure-as-code
• React Native or mobile development experience for deeper cross-platform collaboration
• Familiarity with AI/ML integrations and real-time data processing
