About the Role

We’re expanding our Technology Services Team capacity to support our customers.

We are looking for a Senior Business Intelligence Specialist with strong expertise in the Microsoft SQL ecosystem to design, develop, maintain, and optimize corporate BI solutions. This role is focused on delivering high-quality, performant, secure, and reliable analytical platforms, supporting critical business decision-making in complex and data-driven environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end Business Intelligence architectures within the Microsoft SQL ecosystem;
• Develop and optimize advanced T-SQL queries, ensuring performance, scalability, and reliability;
• Design and manage ETL/ELT processes using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS);
• Develop and maintain analytical models using SSAS (Multidimensional and Tabular);
• Create and maintain reports and dashboards using SSRS and Power BI, including data modelling and Row-Level Security (RLS);
• Monitor and optimize BI platforms through performance tuning, index analysis, and execution plan analysis;
• Implement data security, access control, and governance best practices;
• Translate business requirements into robust technical BI solutions, working closely with technical and functional stakeholders;
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring, contributing to best practices and knowledge sharing;
• Support and ensure stability across Development, Test, and Production environments.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, or related fields;
• Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in Business Intelligence projects;
• Strong technical expertise in Microsoft SQL Server (2016–2022);
• Advanced knowledge of T-SQL, including complex queries, tuning, and optimization;
• Solid experience in relational and dimensional data modelling (Star Schema / Snowflake);
• Hands-on experience with SSIS, SSAS (Multidimensional and Tabular), SSRS;
• Strong proficiency in Power BI, including data modelling, DAX, dashboards, and security (RLS);
• Experience with DAX and MDX;
• Strong understanding of performance monitoring and optimization techniques;
• Experience in data security, access management, and data governance;
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with technical and business stakeholders;
• Capacity to contribute to high-complexity and mission-critical projects;
• Microsoft certifications in Data, BI, or Analytics are considered a plus;
• Fluency in spoken and written English;
• Availability to work in a hybrid model (2 days per week on-site) in Lisbon.
