Reporting Developer/ Analyst

We are looking for:

This role is responsible for the development, implementation, and management of internal and business reporting processes. This role ensures the accuracy and timeliness of reporting provided to various stakeholders. This person will work closely with various teams to understand the reporting needs and deliver insights that drive business performance.

What you will do:

Data Pipeline Development & Maintenance:

• Design, develop, and maintain ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes using Azure Data Factory;
• Create and optimize data pipelines that ingest, process, and deliver data across the organization;
• Build and maintain data integrations between multiple source systems and data warehouses;
• Implement robust error handling, logging, and monitoring in ADF pipelines;
• Document pipeline architecture and configurations for knowledge transfer and maintenance.

SQL Development & Database Management:

• Write, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries and stored procedures;
• Design and implement efficient database schemas and dimensional data models;
• Perform data quality checks and validation across ETL processes;
• Ensure data consistency, accuracy, and integrity throughout the pipeline lifecycle.

Report & Dashboard Development:

• Build interactive dashboards and paginated reports using Microsoft Power BI;
• Develop Power BI data models with proper relationships, hierarchies, and DAX calculations;
• Create compelling data visualizations that translate complex datasets into actionable insights;
• Implement row-level security (RLS) and role-based access controls in Power BI;
• Establish and maintain reporting best practices and standards.

Issue Resolution & Troubleshooting:

• Identify, investigate, and resolve issues with existing reports and data pipelines;
• Conduct root cause analysis on data discrepancies and pipeline failures;
• Perform debugging and performance optimization on underperforming queries and reports;
• Communicate resolution status and implement preventative measures;
• Maintain detailed documentation of issues, resolutions, and lessons learned.

Continuous Improvement & Optimization:

• Monitor pipeline and report performance, identifying bottlenecks and optimization opportunities;
• Recommend and implement performance tuning strategies;
• Evaluate and adopt new tools and technologies to enhance analytical capabilities;
• Collaborate with stakeholders to refine reporting requirements and data structures;
• Contribute to the development of data governance and best practice standards.

What you must have:

Azure Data Factory:

• Expert-level proficiency in designing and implementing ADF pipelines;
• Strong understanding of data flow activities, mapping data flows, and data transformation logic;
• Experience with lookup activities, copy activities, and conditional processing;
• Proficiency in parameterization and dynamic pipeline configurations;
• Knowledge of integration runtimes (IR) and pipeline orchestration patterns.

SQL:

• Expert-level T-SQL proficiency (MS SQL Server and/or Azure SQL);
• Ability to write complex queries including CTEs, window functions, and recursive logic;
• Strong experience with stored procedures, views, and indexed views;
• Performance tuning and query optimization skills;
• Understanding of query execution plans and index strategies.

Microsoft Power BI:

• Hands-on experience building Power BI dashboards and paginated reports;
• Proficiency in Power BI Service for publishing, sharing, and managing reports;
• Strong data modeling skills using Power BI's relational model;
• DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) proficiency for custom calculations and measures;
• Experience with Power Query for data extraction and transformation;
• Knowledge of Power BI performance optimization techniques.

Database Design & Data Modeling:

• Understanding of dimensional modeling and data warehouse concepts (star schema, slowly changing dimensions);
• Ability to design normalized and denormalized database structures;
• Knowledge of fact and dimension table design patterns;
• Experience with data modeling tools and techniques.

Highly Valued Skills (Assets)

• Experience working with Aura data model structures and semantics;
• Understanding of graph-based data relationships and entity modeling;
• Alteryx: Proficiency in workflow design, data blending, and advanced analytics;
• KNIME: Experience with node-based data processing, workflow creation, and integration;
• Other tools: Familiarity with additional data analysis and transformation tools
