Back End Developer

Contract to EOY - Mid/Senior Backend Engineer (Azure focus) - $750-$850 per day - Melbourne 1 day onsite

This role sits within a collaborative delivery team building a mobile-first platform for a health insurance provider. It’s an environment that values clean engineering, pragmatic decision-making, and close collaboration with mobile teams.

A product-led organisation delivering a cross-platform mobile app backed by Azure-native services and .NET microservices. You’ll join a small, high-calibre team which directly impact the end-user experience. The role is largely remote, with candidates required to be Melbourne-based.

The role

• Build and maintain backend services running in Azure
• Support mobile performance through APIs, caching and data sync patterns
• Lead day-to-day backend delivery, reviewing code and guiding 1–2 engineers
• Work closely with a hands-on Tech Lead from a mobile background
• Contribute to an AI-first, DevOps-led engineering culture

Tech / Skills

• Strong experience with Azure infrastructure and services
• Background building APIs and containerised services (.NET experience beneficial)
• Comfortable working in a mobile-adjacent environment
• Experience with DevOps practices and cloud-native delivery
• Azure certifications highly regarded
