Chief Technology Officer

Finbite Invoice Center has been offering an all-in-one environment for businesses looking to make their accounting processes smarter for over 10 years. We are the leading e-invoice operator in Estonia. In addition to this, we also operate in Lithuania and Latvia.

We are looking for a hands-on CTO with an entrepreneurial mindset to own and lead our technology function end-to-end. This role goes beyond managing an IT team — you will shape the technology vision, influence product strategy, and drive innovation, including the adoption of AI and emerging technologies.

You will act as a technology co-creator of the business, combining strategic leadership with hands-on execution. This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys building, scaling, and continuously improving products while empowering a strong engineering team.

What you will do?

• Lead, mentor, and support a team of 5 engineers by setting development standards, review architecture and code to have a strong engineering culture.
• Own the company’s technology vision and roadmap, aligning it with business goals, product strategy, and long-term growth.
• Define and execute the company’s technology strategy, aligned with business goals and long-term product vision.
• Act as the primary technical decision-maker, balancing speed, quality, scalability and maintainability.
• Represent technology at leadership level and act as a strategic partner in product and business planning.
• Stay hands-on: contribute to Java-based product development, architecture design, and critical technical decisions.
• Lead product development from early concept and experimentation to production and scaling.
• Drive innovation, exploring and introducing AI, automation, and emerging technologies where they create real business value.
• Ensure systems meet compliance and integration needs within the Estonian e-invoice regulations.
• Evaluate tools, platforms, and partnerships with a builder and owner mindset
• Collaborate with clients and partners to understand technical requirements, design solutions, and assess cost and feasibility..

You are a perfect fit if you have:

• Experience as a CTO, Tech Lead, or Software Architect in a product company or startup.
• Proven leadership experience, including making architectural and infrastructure decisions.
• A hands-on mindset — comfortable both defining strategy and troubleshooting real technical issues.
• Strong Java experience (hands-on, production-level).
• Solid experience designing and operating microservices architectures.
• Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure, system integrations, and DevOps practices.
• Experience or strong interest in AI, machine learning, automation, or emerging technologies, and the ability to apply them pragmatically.
• The confidence to make product and technical decisions independently.
• Excellent communication skills in Estonian and in English, able to explain complex topics to non-technical stakeholders.
• Confidence to make independent technical and product decisions in an entrepreneurial environment.
• Experience with Spring Boot, REST APIs, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
