We are a rapidly growing company developing and commercializing medical imaging software powered by AI. Headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, with offices in the US and France, we currently total 65+ people, and we are still growing.


Position: Software Development Engineer (AI, ML)

Location: Plan les Ouates, Geneva

Start Date: ASAP or as agreed

Contract: Hybrid, 60% office based


About the Role

We are looking for a motivated, adaptable, and proactive Software Development Engineer who will play a key role in designing, implementing, and deploying Medimaps’ software solutions, both on-premise and in the Cloud. The role focuses on modern, scalable, secure cloud deployment of our medical imaging solutions, with hands-on development in C# and Python, and the use of up-to-date technologies and development practices.


What You’ll Do

  • Develop high-quality software components in C# (.NET) and Python following modern engineering practices.
  • Implement cloud-ready features ensuring scalability, maintainability, and performance.
  • Contribute to backend services, APIs, microservices, job orchestration, and automation pipelines.
  • Ensure code quality through unit testing, code reviews, static analysis, and continuous integration.
  • Modernize legacy components by refactoring, redesign, and introducing up-to-date technologies.
  • Collaborate closely with AI/ML, DevOps, QA an product teams.
  • Deploy and maintain Medimaps products in the cloud.
  • Build and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code, CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployment workflows.
  • Monitor, optimize, and troubleshoot cloud-hosted workloads.
  • Implement security best practices for cloud environments (identity, secrets management, network segmentation, logging).
  • Contribute to resilience, observability, scalability, and performance of cloud solutions.
  • Support integration of machine learning pipelines or inference services.
  • Collaborate with AI experts to deploy models into production environments.
  • Help maintain reproducible, compliant ML workflows when applicable.
  • Apply cybersecurity best practices across development and deployment.
  • Support vulnerability remediation (dependencies, libraries, containers).
  • Participate in internal or external security audits and hardening activities.
  • Work in alignment with IEC 62304, ISO 13485, and Medimaps QMS processes.
  • Produce or update required technical documentation.
  • Ensure secure handling of patient and medical data (HIPAA, GDPR).



What We’re Looking For

Technical:

  • Fluent in French and English (mandatory).
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong experience in C# (.NET) and Python development (3+ years).
  • Hands-on experience deploying and maintaining applications in Azure (preferred), AWS, or GCP.
  • Solid understanding of CI/CD, containers, APIs, microservices, and modern software architectures.
  • Strong knowledge of Git and collaborative development workflows.
  • Prior work experience within a regulated medical device environment (SaMD).
  • Familiarity with software quality and safety requirements in regulated environments (IEC 62304, ISO 13485, knowledge highly advantageous).
  • Experience or strong interest in AI / machine learning (model integration, inference services).
  • Cybersecurity experience; security certifications are a strong plus.
  • Certifications (e.g., Security+, Azure Security Engineer, CISSP Associate) are a plus.
  • Experience with healthcare standards (HL7, FHIR) is a plus.
  • Experience with SCRUM / Agile methodologies is a plus.


Interpersonal/Soft skills:

  • Strong communication and teamwork, comfortable with cross-functional collaboration.
  • Problem-solving, autonomy, and capacity to take ownership of technical topics.
  • Ability to learn new technologies and keep up with industry trends.
  • Highly proactive, productive, priority focused, with an ability to deliver project work on time.
  • Strong sense of ownership and commitment is essential
