Job Overview:

An experienced DevOps Engineer is required to support automation, configuration, and integration of systems within a highly secure, complex technical environment.

The role focuses on Infrastructure-as-Code, configuration management, and the delivery of stable, repeatable, and secure environments supporting critical infrastructure capabilities. You will work closely with technical teams to design, implement, and optimise automated build and deployment pipelines across on-premise platforms.

This is a hands-on engineering role operating in a mission-critical environment with zero tolerance for poor discipline or undocumented change.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain automated infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code
  • Administer and support Linux-based systems in secure environments
  • Implement and manage configuration management solutions
  • Support CI/CD pipelines, build processes, and deployment workflows
  • Configure and maintain reverse proxy and load balancing solutions
  • Support on-premise cloud platforms and systems integration activities
  • Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to improve reliability, security, and delivery efficiency
  • Ensure environments are repeatable, auditable, and stable

Essential Criteria:

  • Strong Linux system administration experience
  • Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Terraform)
  • Configuration management (e.g. Puppet, Ansible)
  • Reverse proxy and load balancing solutions (e.g. NGINX)
  • CI/CD tooling (e.g. GitLab CI, GitHub Actions)
  • On-premise cloud platforms (e.g. OpenStack, VMware)

Desirable Criteria:

  • Network configuration and security (VPNs, firewalls, routing)
  • Containerisation and orchestration (e.g. Docker)
  • Scripting experience (e.g. Bash, Python)
  • Monitoring and logging tools (e.g. Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana)

Working Arrangements:

  • Onsite only – 5 days per week
  • WFH is not available
  • Interstate candidates cannot be accommodated

Important Candidate Notice:

This role requires participation in a comprehensive Organisational Suitability Assessment (OSA), including a psychological assessment covering areas such as personal history, values, finances, health, and conduct. Candidates should only apply if fully prepared for this process.
