We are seeking a versatile and security focused Senior System Engineer to join a complex and high impact project. In this position, you will develop software using a variety of languages and tools, selecting the best approach for each specific task. You will be a primary owner of security implementation, responsible for designing secure components and managing the end to end vulnerability lifecycle. You will be expected to bridge the gap between application level work and Linux system infrastructure.

• Develop and maintain high quality code across Java/Golang/C++ environments.
• Lead the design and implementation of cryptographic solutions and secure components
• Conduct thorough threat assessments and manage the integration of security patches
• Modify system frameworks and develop core services to enhance platform functionality
• Automate and script processes for builds, testing, and deployments to improve efficiency
• Foster a strong security culture through rigorous code reviews and the promotion of best practices
• Take full ownership of technical decisions and drive projects forward with a proactive mentality

• Proven experience working with the Android Open Source Project including the ability to build from source and modify system services
• Strong proficiency in at least one core language such as C, C++, Java, or Golang with a willingness to learn others as needed
• Solid understanding of security fundamentals including cryptography and threat modelling
• Practical experience with Linux fundamentals and scripting for DevOps or infrastructure tasks
• Ability to switch contexts easily across different project areas and technical domains
• A proactive mindset with the ability to take responsibility for complex technical outcomes
