Job Description
- Support the Project Manager and Project Engineering Manager in leading and managing oil and gas projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to budgets, schedules, and quality standards.
- Provide technical guidance and support in the planning, design, and execution of oil and gas projects, including drilling, production, and infrastructure development.
- Identify potential risks and challenges in projects and develop mitigation strategies to ensure safety and compliance with industry regulations.
- Oversee the procurement of equipment, materials, and services, facilitate and expedite project team - Vendors relationships to ensure timely project delivery.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations throughout the project life cycle, promoting a culture of safety.
- Support the Project Manager and Project Engineering Manager by identifying and/or proposing cost-saving opportunities while maintaining project quality standards.
- Foster effective communication with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and provide regular progress reports to management and clients.
- Implement and oversee quality control and assurance processes to meet project specifications and industry standards.
- Support the Project Manager and Project Engineering Manager in motivating project teams, assigning tasks, and ensuring team members have the necessary resources and support to achieve project goals.
- Travels as required by the project, internationally. Occasionally, on short notice.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferably Petroleum, Mechanical, or Chemical).
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in project engineering within the Energy, Oil, and Gas sector.
- In-depth understanding of oil and gas operations, production techniques, and industry regulations.
- Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies, including scheduling, budgeting, and risk assessment.
- Strong technical knowledge of oil and gas processes, equipment, and systems.
- Familiarity with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) management, and commitment to safety in project execution.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to diverse audiences.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex engineering challenges.
- Familiarity with project management software, CAD tools, and relevant industry software.
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and lead by example. Fabrication / construction yard experience is a plus.
- Fluent in English written and spoken.
- Proactive, empathetic, good communicator.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to inspire and guide project teams.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in project documentation and compliance.
- Excellent time management skills to meet project deadlines and milestones.
- Uphold ethical standards and maintain integrity in all project dealings.
- A proactive problem solver with the ability to think critically and make informed decisions.
- A commitment to meeting client expectations and delivering value-added solutions.
- Effective conflict resolution skills to address issues and disputes within project teams.
