The Role
We’re seeking a senior AI Engineer to lead the design, architecture, and delivery of AI capabilities that power this company’s workflow platform. This is a hands-on, highly visible role for someone who can build production-grade AI systems, develop agentic AI solutions, and elevate the broader engineering team’s AI expertise.
You’ll work closely with Product, Engineering, and leadership to deliver secure, scalable, compliant, and commercially viable AI solutions real systems in production, not prototypes or demos.
This role is critical to shaping how AI is responsibly integrated into a workflow-driven, regulated AML product.
Key Responsibilities
Lead AI Architecture
- Design and implement the foundational AI architecture across the workflow platform
- Define best practices for large language model (LLM) use, orchestration, monitoring, and security
- Establish standards for agentic workflows, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and model integration
- Build scalable, resilient systems suitable for multi-tenant, regulated environments
Build Production-Grade Agentic AI
- Develop and deploy AI agents that automate complex workflows and decision-making
- Integrate AI solutions with workflow engines, APIs, business rules, and human-in-the-loop processes
- Own the AI lifecycle end-to-end: ideation, prototyping, production, monitoring, and iteration
- Ensure AI outputs are reliable, explainable, and auditable as needed
Collaborate Across Teams
- Partner with Product, Design, and leadership to identify high-impact AI opportunities
- Translate business challenges into practical AI applications
- Collaborate on AI strategy, roadmap, and delivery sequencing with the Head of Engineering
Responsible AI & Security
- Embed responsible AI principles around privacy, safety, fairness, and compliance
- Securely handle sensitive customer and identity data across AI workflows
Cost Management & Performance
- Design AI systems for cost efficiency and predictability
- Monitor and optimise LLM usage, token consumption, latency, and infrastructure costs
Team Enablement & AI Fluency
- Mentor and upskill the engineering team on AI concepts and best practices
Skills & Experience
- 7+ years software engineering experience including hands-on AI production deployments
- Proven track record delivering at least one generative AI application to production
- Deep experience with LLMs such as OpenAI, Anthropic, AWS Bedrock, etc.
- Familiarity with agentic AI frameworks and orchestration patterns
- Strong backend, API, and infrastructure knowledge
- Expertise with RAG architectures, vector databases, embedding models, and evaluation techniques
- Prior experience mentoring engineers or leading technical initiatives
