We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst for a 6-month freelance engagement in Zurich. This is a hybrid role working closely with a dynamic team to design and implement a new system to replace a large, custom-built monolithic system. This is an exciting opportunity to bring fresh thinking and shape the future of a complex, bespoke system.

What You’ll Do:

• Understand and illustrate existing business processes to key stakeholders.
• Translate complex business requirements into clear, technology-agnostic documentation.
• Work on a new custom system, helping define its design and future functionality.
• Collaborate with design specialists and junior BA support to ensure requirements are captured accurately and visualized effectively.
• Identify core requirements, anticipate future functionality, and apply innovative approaches (including AI-driven tools where appropriate).
• Bring insights from exotic or niche industries, particularly from custom application development or bespoke software implementations.

Who You Are:

• Experienced in custom/bespoke software projects, ideally with exposure to monolithic or complex legacy systems.
• Skilled at capturing business requirements and communicating them clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Creative and fresh-thinking, able to approach complex systems with innovative solutions.
• Strong personality and leadership, able to mentor junior BAs and collaborate effectively with design teams.
• Comfortable working in a hybrid environment in Zurich.
