Brief Summary Of The Role

Robotics Engineering plays a crucial role in enabling the growth of Copado Robotic Testing (CRT). Investment into CRT contributes to the new ServiceNow testing business as the new Tango product will be based on the CRT technology. In addition, platform services built originally for CRT have been successfully applied to the Copado AI Platform; our vision is for Omni, Tango, and Astra to leverage Robotics’ technology to eventually enable the AgentOps vision.

The Backend Engineer role is essential in building the backend services that power user experiences for authoring and orchestrating automated testing on the path towards Autonomous Testing. You will build stable, scalable, secure, and high-performance cloud backend services. Collaboration with Product Managers, Architects, Infra, and Security is essential—ensuring each feature not only meets functional needs but also aligns with Copado’s standards for security and performance.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Feature Delivery: Contribute to the delivery of Copado Robotic Testing features, ensuring successful implementation following Copado’s backend standards and best practices.
• Unified Architecture: Implement reusable components aligned with the Copado Unified Architecture, in partnership with Platform Engineering and other product lines.
• API Development: Deliver backend services with well-documented REST and GraphQL APIs.
• Performance Optimization: Deliver measurable performance improvements (latency reduction, caching, and efficient data binding) to enhance system responsiveness and scalability.
• AI-Assisted Innovation: Adopt and promote AI-assisted development practices, leveraging Copilot and Cursor to improve code quality, speed, and documentation workflows.
• Observability & Resilience: Improve system stability by implementing logging, error tracking, and performance metrics within owned components to reduce production incidents.
• Collaboration: Contribute to code reviews, investigations of customer-reported cases, and exploratory testing.
  
  

Technical Expertise

We Are Looking for Someone With:

• Polyglot Fluency: Love of programming and fluency in more than one language. TypeScript and Rust are particularly valued.
• Cloud & Databases: Experience with AWS services, PostgreSQL, and other databases.
• Orchestration: Experience in building containerized microservices with Kubernetes orchestration.
• Integrations: Proficiency in REST/GraphQL integrations with backend microservices, with a sharp focus on security and performance.
• Modern Tooling: Expertise in AI-assisted development and a strong CI/CD mindset with experience in related tools for testing and delivery.
