Due to our continued growth, we are now recruiting for a Software & Boot Owner Engineer – Software Platforms, to strengthen our team in Gothenburg.


Responsibilities

As a Software & Boot Owner Engineer, you will become an expert in software platforms on the boot and boot loader design enabling our platforms in classic/adaptive AUTOSAR, and Linux/QNX hypervisor, and base software development. You will be part of a new journey in Vehicle Technology, in an important role in development, testing, and implementing groundbreaking software solutions for automotive applications.


The key area is owning the boot design, work closely with testing and verification from a supplier developed base, as well as responsible for the development of the full boot process chain to comply to future cybersecurity improvements for the new platform developed in the Embedded Software Factory. You will learn to re-design the current boot, and boot loader, in close collaboration with our supplier, as well as own all boot, boot loader and boot process requirements and develop suitable testing strategies, and use-cases, in this area of booting at Hypervisor and Linux development, in the platform core system.


Additionally, you will be:

• Responsible for receiving the boot delivery from supplier and suggest design changes, and driving new requirements, test cases and regression testing, as well as ensuring that testing and verification documentation is done.

• The initial point of contact for your development team’s boot deliveries.


Knowledge/Experience

You are a Software Developer, experienced in the middle of your journey within embedded software development, driven by a passion for automotive technology, CI/CD, and modern integration methodologies.


You have found yourself, as taking pride in the daily business and work, and take full responsibility of your own area, - as a combination of developer, but also being a leader when needed, as key account person for keeping a professional collaboration relationship with an automotive supplier, to achieve the goals of platform development. You will be both your own capacity, as well as the driver for changes, in a strong collaboration atmosphere with our supplier partner.


You enjoy working in a collaborative environment where you can contribute to regression testing, investigate software bugs, and continuously improve the team’s development and testing scope.


You take pride in designing well-structured test cases and ensuring high-quality software, both in your own work and within your team. With excellent analytical skills and a strong problem-solving mindset, you approach challenges with curiosity and collaboration, always striving to enhance the development process and deliver robust solutions.


Requirements:

• University degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.

• Hands-on experience and interest in working with Linux, and open-source operating systems. Especially boot loader experience is of importance here.

• Experience in programming languages such as C, C++, Python, Embedded C, Bash script and Jenkins.

• Good understanding of software design principles, patterns, and best practices.

• Broad understanding of programming concepts, compilers, file management systems, and revision management.

• Practical experience from multiple projects and experienced challenges with handling digitally created dependencies, due to revision tracking and software interference connections. Such as hands on board bring up experience (i.e. debugging with Lauterbach), and low level driver development experience.

• Of high interest if you have experience of low level multicore system bring up experience and knowledge on Secure boot keys fusing operation and flow.
