Role Description

This is a contract-based hybrid role for an Experienced Backend Engineer located in Malmo, with no work-from-home flexibility. The primary responsibilities include designing, building, and maintaining efficient server-side applications and complex databases. The role involves optimizing backend processes, developing APIs, collaborating with frontend developers, and ensuring the scalability and security of the system. The Backend Engineer will also play a key role in debugging and resolving issues, and contributing to architecture decisions.

Employment Type : Contract to Hire (in 6 months-1 year)

Location : Malmö (Onsite - No Hybrid / Remote work)

Must Have Qualifications

● Very strong in programming, system design and problem solving.

● Professional experience from writing code in Scala, Java, C++ or similar.

● Ability to take ownership, identify requirements, prioritise and make progress in an environment with limited given input.

● Fluent communication in English with a sense for listening to others as well as getting your message through in a crisp way.

● Experience in cross team collaboration and communication.

● Working with Latest GenAI tooling to improve delivery (Getting more done with better quality) need to be a natural part and experience in your day to day work

Extra Merit Qualifications

● Experience of data engineering in large and complex domains.

● Experience in design and implementation of APIs and REST services

● Experience with frameworks like Akka, Play (Scala), Spark

● Experience with GIS, Geographical Data and Toolkits such as JTS, ArcGIS, QGIS, OpenJump etc
