About The Role

The Staff iOS Engineer role at Capital One Canada offers an exciting opportunity for experienced mobile developers to lead and inspire a team of engineers dedicated to creating innovative financial products. In this position, you will be responsible for managing the delivery of major components and platform needs, working closely with senior engineers and architects to ensure the successful implementation of high-quality mobile applications. You will participate actively in the full software development lifecycle, from design to deployment, while mentoring junior team members to foster growth and technical excellence.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in any field and have at least six years of hands-on experience developing native iOS applications using Swift and SwiftUI. Extensive experience in application design, technical architecture, and development is essential. Proven leadership skills, including mentoring junior and intermediate associates, as well as the ability to guide technical and business stakeholders, are highly valued. Candidates should demonstrate a strong understanding of modern mobile development practices and a passion for innovation in the financial technology space.

Responsibilities

• Own and lead the delivery of major components and platform needs in collaboration with senior engineers and architectural teams to ensure alignment with business goals and technical standards.
• Work as part of a dynamic mobile team throughout all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle, including planning, development, testing, and deployment.
• Enhance and improve software engineering practices within agile teams by designing, developing, testing, and supporting technical solutions across a full stack of development tools and technologies.
• Contribute expertise on how evolving technology impacts the domain, providing insights and recommendations to optimize product performance and scalability.
• Mentor and guide junior, intermediate, and senior mobile associates, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages continuous learning and professional growth.
