Senior Network Engineer / Network Operations Lead

Contract: 2 years + extension

Location: Strasbourg, France

We’re looking for an experienced Network Engineer with strong leadership skills to drive the stability, performance, and security of large-scale, mission-critical systems operating 24/7. This role combines deep hands-on technical expertise with operational leadership, making it ideal for someone who thrives under pressure and enjoys responsibility at scale.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and coordinate day-to-day network operations, ensuring continuous service delivery and adherence to SLA/OLA targets.
• Act as the senior escalation point for high-severity incidents, ensuring rapid resolution and minimal service impact.
• Manage, mentor, and develop a team of network engineers, fostering operational excellence and skills growth.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and implement long-term corrective actions in complex, multi-vendor environments.
• Provide clear technical guidance, regular status updates, and improvement recommendations to key stakeholders.
• Ensure full compliance with ITIL processes, including Incident, Problem, Change, and Capacity Management.
• Support audits, security assessments, and compliance activities related to network infrastructure.

Experience:

• Strong hands-on experience with enterprise networking: routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, load balancing, WAN optimization.
• Proven track record supporting mission-critical infrastructures in 24/7 operational environments.
• Deep expertise in Check Point technologies (CCSA/CCSE required; CCSM a strong advantage).
• Additional experience or certifications in Cisco (CCNP/CCIE), Fortinet (NSE), Palo Alto, or Juniper are highly desirable.
• Experience with network monitoring, automation, and high-availability architectures.
• Solid understanding of ITIL v4 and operational service management.
• Excellent communication skills, comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders.
