On behalf of our public sector client, Affinity is seeking a Scrum Master who will support the Health Gateway project by enabling effective agile delivery across technical, service design, business, and support streams. This role focuses on facilitating Scrum ceremonies, removing impediments, supporting sprint execution, and fostering a culture of trust, transparency, and continuous improvement within a distributed, remote team environment.
Responsibilities:
• Organizes and moderates daily stand-ups, planning, reviews, and retrospectives via virtual platforms. Ensures meetings are time-boxed, focused, and inclusive.
• Supports technical, service design, business and support streams to ensure deliverables are assigned and progress managed at appropriate sprint cycles.
• Identifies and addresses blockers that hinder team progress.
• Coordinates with partners or other teams to resolve external dependencies.
• Coaches the team on Scrum principles and agile methodologies. Encourages continuous improvement and iterative delivery.
• Builds a culture of trust and transparency in a remote setting.
• Utilizes digital tools (e.g., Jira, Miro, MS Teams) to maintain alignment and visibility on work. Completes administrative duties for these spaces. ie. access and formatting
• Assists the Product Owner in backlog refinement and prioritization.
• Facilitates communication between the team and partners to ensure shared understanding of goals.
• Tracks team metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Provides feedback and encourages a sustainable pace of work.
• Leads retrospectives that generate actionable insights.
• Implements changes that enhance team efficiency and morale.
Qualifications:
• Must have 5+ years working in a Health Authority or similar environment
• Must have Scrum Master Certification
• Experience with Agile methodology and delivery management tools like JIRA, Confluence
• Must have experience on a scrum team and leading scrum and development team
• Must be able to communicate clearly with multiple groups of stakeholders with differing needs
• Demonstrated experience facilitating and managing consultation processes with a wide range of stakeholder groups
• Must be able to work independently to solve problems
• Demonstrated capability in handling sensitive and challenging situations
• Demonstrated capability to work collaboratively with Senior Management team and Executives
• Excellent proficiency with MS Office toolsets (Word, Excel, Visio, Project)
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills dealing with senior executive and clinicians
• Must be a relationship and team builder, player with well-developed interpersonal skills
• Excellent project management, analytical skillset
• Project Management Professional (PMP) designation (or equivalent) considered a strong asset
• PROSCI or other Change Management certification desirable
• Prefer candidate to have digital health delivery experience on citizen facing tools
