PHP Laravel Developer

We are seeking an experienced Senior PHP Laravel Developer to lead backend development for critical product modules. In this role, you will own system design and implementation, drive performance and scalability improvements, and mentor junior engineers, while collaborating closely with Product, QA, Frontend, and DevOps teams to deliver robust, scalable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain complex backend systems using PHP & Laravel
Own end-to-end delivery of assigned product modules from design to production
Architect and implement scalable, secure RESTful APIs and backend services
Lead code reviews and mentor junior developers, promoting best practices and code quality
Collaborate with Product, QA, DevOps, and Frontend teams on feature planning and releases
Drive improvements in application performance, scalability, security, and reliability
Lead debugging and root-cause analysis of production issues
Actively participate in technical decision-making and system architecture discussions
Ensure adherence to coding standards, documentation, and quality benchmarks
Identify and proactively address technical debt and system bottlenecks

Required Skills & Qualifications

5–8 years of professional experience in PHP development with strong Laravel expertise
Advanced knowledge of sql / no-sql database design and optimization (MySQL, MONGODB)
Extensive experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs
Strong understanding of MVC architecture and SOLID principles, PSR standards and system design best practices
Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines
Solid grasp of authentication, authorization, and application security
Proven ability to own features end-to-end and drive them independently
Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders

Good to Have

Experience with Angular or modern frontend frameworks
Exposure to LMS / SaaS / EdTech platforms
Hands-on experience with Redis, queues, background jobs, and cron management
Experience deploying and managing applications on AWS or other cloud platforms
Prior experience mentoring or leading development teams
