Bristol City Council is looking to recruit an Employment Navigator to join the Move In, Move On, Move Up project.

This role provides tailored, 1:1 coaching for individuals with a history of rough sleeping or those living in temporary or unsettled accommodation, helping them progress towards and/or secure and sustain paid employment.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide 1:1 support to people from the homeless community to help them access the labour market, identifying clear pathways into employment
  • Help people stay in work by offering ongoing support, and working closely with employers to make sure both the employee and the organisation have what they need
  • Create and put in place effective ways of working, including opportunities for work experience and supported employment where possible
  • Raise awareness among employers about the valuable skills and strengths that people with lived experience of homelessness can bring to a workplace
  • Attend meetings and events to engage with specialist support organisations and promote the project
  • Keep accurate records, including a caseload database (Excel) and case notes

About You:

You will be trauma-informed, empathetic, and non-judgemental. You’ll be highly organised, able to manage your own workload and maintain accurate client records in line with data protection requirements. Confidence in using interpreting services is essential, as many participants require language support.

Please note that this role is subject to an Enhanced DBS Check.
