Job Introduction

The Logistics Operations Business Support team delivers professional tool management support to ensure operational excellence within the Logistics Operations Tool Center. We support the department by maintaining and improving a software application that ensures tools are available at the right time and place, complying with safety regulations and quality standards.

Our team is driven to continuously enhance our support in a safe and structured manner within a high-tech logistics and technical environment. As part of our LEAN initiatives, we focus on creating, simplifying, and standardizing processes to improve quality and reduce costs.

Tool-related data is managed in SAP; however, we have developed a PHP-based software application interfacing with SAP that helps us monitor and optimize our processes and services. The Software Developer in the Business Support team is responsible for maintaining, optimizing, and expanding this application. Currently, the application is being phased out and its functionalities are transitioning to SAP EWM. Your role will involve quickly understanding the existing PHP application and supporting its decommissioning while ensuring continuous service.

Role and Responsibilities

• Maintain and optimize the Tool Center software application built in PHP (Laravel framework is a strict requirement).
• Convert process improvement requests into software features within the existing PHP application.
• Create and update technical documentation.
• Collaborate closely with Tool Center engineers, including software developers and process engineers; provide backup and share knowledge within the team.
• Act as a key user for tools supporting operational processes, including SAP, Excel, and the PHP-based application.
• Provide 1st and 2nd line support for users of the software and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering or related field.
• Strong experience with PHP frameworks, specifically Laravel (mandatory).
• Proficient in MySQL database management.
• Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery.
• Skilled in software design for both frontend and backend.
• Experience in project management is desirable.
• Familiarity with SharePoint, Excel, SAP, and reporting tools (Spotfire) or a willingness to learn.
• Linux and WebSockets knowledge is a plus.
• Experience or affinity with logistics and/or warehouse processes is considered an advantage.
• Minimum of 2 years professional work experience.
