Job Title: Freelance BizOps Engineer

Our client are a leading consultancy in Norway, partnering with top financial services clients to deliver innovative and reliable technology solutions. They are seeking a highly skilled and motivated BizOps Engineer to join their team and support a critical client in the financial services sector.

Role Overview

As a BizOps Engineer, you will take ownership of managing and optimising production environments, focusing on system reliability, scalability, and performance. You will drive automation, monitor application health, and respond to incidents, all while collaborating with global teams and mentoring junior colleagues. This role combines technical expertise, operational excellence, and a proactive approach to improving the end-to-end lifecycle of financial applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage production environments, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
• Define and implement strategies for application performance monitoring and optimisation.
• Respond to incidents, identify root causes, and implement solutions to minimise recurrence.
• Support CI/CD pipelines, automating deployment processes across environments.
• Design, develop, and standardise monitoring and alerting mechanisms for supported applications.
• Collaborate across the platform’s technology stack to optimise meantime to recovery during production events.
• Analyse ITSM activities, identify operational gaps, and provide actionable feedback to development teams.
• Engage in capacity planning, system design consulting, and launch readiness reviews.
• Monitor system health, availability, and latency, scaling sustainably through automation and process improvements.
• Mentor junior team members, provide training, and document procedures to foster knowledge-sharing.
• Participate in on-call rotations and occasional off-hours work to support global operations.
