Agile Project Manager 6 month Contract with Mining Organisation

A leading and Australian based mining organisation with operations throughout the country is seeking 2 x Project Manager's to work on a variety of projects starting over the next 6 months.

Your new role

This role leads the IT delivery work supporting the uplift of the DRM Management Operating System (MOS), with a focus on developing the digital layer-data pipelines, data models, and reporting. The Agile Project Manager brings structure, prioritisation, and disciplined delivery practices to a workstream currently receiving unstructured, short‑notice requests from external consultants.

• Establish and embed Agile processes, including backlog management, sprint planning, and delivery cadence.
• Triage and translate incoming requests into clear requirements and user stories.
• Prioritise work and coordinate delivery across internal digital teams and external consultants.
• Ensure due diligence on data models, source data quality, and reporting logic.
• Work closely with technical teams (Azure, Databricks, Data Lake, Power BI) to convert business needs into actionable IT scope.
• Support stakeholders in refining broad or unclear requirements.

What you'll need to succeed

• Proven experience as an Agile Project Manager or Scrum Master, ideally in data or digital environments.
• Strong business analysis capability, including requirements definition and user story creation.
• Working knowledge of Azure data services, Databricks, data lakes, and Power BI.
• Ability to bring structure to ambiguity and manage competing priorities.
• Effective stakeholder management across business, technical teams, and external partners.

NOTE:

• Can be Brisbane or Melbourne‑based, working with the APAC Digital team
• Occasional ad‑hoc site visits.
