IT Security Officer

IT Security Officer – Luxembourg (5 days per week on site)

Hamilton Barnes is representing a large IT Consultancy who are looking for an IT Security Officer for a long-term project based full-time on site in Luxembourg. This role plays a vital part in strengthening the organisation’s cybersecurity posture by performing detailed security assessments, enforcing security controls, and ensuring compliance with leading frameworks such as ISO 27001 and NIS. You’ll act as a trusted security advisor to IT teams and business units, supporting architecture reviews, audits, and remediation activities. Responsibilities:

You will perform technical and procedural security assessments across systems, applications, and infrastructure, identifying risks and recommending mitigation measures. The role includes managing vulnerabilities from identification through remediation, prioritising risks, and collaborating with IT teams to ensure timely resolution. You’ll coordinate penetration testing and audit activities, documenting findings and tracking progress. Additionally, you’ll contribute to the implementation of security controls, review system configurations, and ensure compliance with frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, OWASP, and MITRE ATT&CK.

Skills/Must have:

Candidates should have strong experience in IT security operations, risk management, or GRC functions within complex or regulated environments. You must have hands-on expertise in vulnerability management, security assessments, and risk analysis. Familiarity with security control implementation and architecture review processes is required, along with the ability to translate technical issues into business risks. Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, or ISO 27001 Lead Implementer/Auditor are highly desirable. Excellent communication skills in English and French are required.
