AWS Platform Engineer

My Dublin City Centre based client is recruiting for an AWS Platform Engineer for a daily rate contract working on a hybrid model. The AWS Platform Engineer will support a large regulated organisation undergoing significant cloud transformation. This engagement will focus on hands-on delivery within a Cloud Centre of Excellence, building and enhancing a modern AWS-based cloud platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and manage AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (primarily CloudFormation)
• Develop and deploy serverless applications
• Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines to support automated delivery
• Implement new features and improvements within the cloud platform
• Configure monitoring, logging, and performance optimisation solutions
• Partner with internal stakeholders to enable secure and efficient cloud adoption
• Ensure solutions align with security, risk, and regulatory requirements

Experience Required

• Strong hands-on AWS experience, including deep knowledge of native services
• Proven track record delivering resilient, highly available enterprise-scale cloud solutions
• Solid expertise in infrastructure design, security best practices, scalability, and cost optimisation
• Experience with scripting (e.g., Bash, Python)
• Demonstrated experience working in Agile delivery environments
• Experience operating within regulated or risk-aware environments

Desirable

• AWS certifications (DevOps, Architecture, or Development)
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines using AWS-native services such as CodeBuild, CodePipeline, and Step Functions
