About the Company

Our client is a leading US company with offices in Dublin city center.

About the Position

They are building a modern, governed lakehouse architecture to enable analytics at scale. This role sits within a Data Architecture function and focuses on shaping domain models end-to-end, from discovery through to physical implementation.

In this role, you will work closely with architects, product managers, and senior engineers to deliver secure, scalable, and maintainable data solutions. The role also includes mentoring junior engineers and contributing to overall technical direction.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead domain discovery and collaborate with business and technical partners
• Design conceptual, logical, and physical data models, including ERDs and schema diagrams
• Create data flow diagrams (DFDs) and system interaction diagrams
• Design and implement Azure Delta Live Tables (DLT) pipelines
• Design and optimise MySQL storage models, including indexing and partitioning strategies
• Define data contracts and SLAs with upstream and downstream partners
• Optimise performance and cost across Delta Lake and MySQL workloads
• Embed data governance, lineage, and metadata management into solutions

The Person

Required Experience

• 6+ years’ experience in data modelling or data architecture
• Strong expertise in Delta Lake and Azure Delta Live Tables (DLT)
• Deep experience with MySQL physical data modelling
• Proven ability to produce logical and physical data diagrams (ERDs, DFDs)
• Strong SQL skills and data modelling fundamentals

Desirable Experience

• Experience with Databricks and Azure cloud platforms
• Familiarity with data observability and monitoring tools
• Experience working in regulated or highly governed environments
