Back End Developer

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Backend Developer with 4+ years of hands-on experience to design, build, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance backend systems. You will work closely with front-end developers, DevOps, and product teams to deliver reliable APIs and services that power business applications.

This role suits developers who can take ownership of backend components and contribute to architectural and technical decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs
• Build scalable, secure, and high-performance server-side applications
• Develop and optimise databases, data models, and queries
• Integrate third-party services and internal systems
• Implement authentication, authorisation, and security best practices
• Collaborate with front-end, DevOps, and QA teams
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering standards
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex backend issues
• Maintain technical documentation and system designs

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional experience as a Backend Developer or similar role
• Strong proficiency in one or more backend languages (Node.js, Java, Python, C#, PHP, or similar)
• Extensive experience building RESTful APIs and backend services
• Strong knowledge of relational and/or NoSQL databases
• Experience with authentication, authorisation, and API security
• Familiarity with version control systems (Git)
• Strong understanding of software architecture and design patterns
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

Preferred (Not Mandatory)

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)
• Exposure to microservices architecture
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Experience with container technologies (Docker)
• Knowledge of performance monitoring and logging tools
• Experience working in Agile or Scrum environments
